It's coming out tomorrow! F.I.N.A.L.L.Y!
*shudder*
But I'm scared that it'll totally massacre the plot. And the characters. And be overly cheesy.
Oh well. I do like Kristin Stewart as Bella. She's not a disaster, at least. But Robert Pattinson? He'll always be Cedric Diggory to me. As a friend of mine said, "Edward's supposed to be an angel. Robert's got that hot farm-boy look to him, but he'll never pull it off."
Sadly, I'm in total agreement with this statement. Plus, he's British and I *know* (and a few reviews have said) that his accent will pop up in the movie. British accents are pretty damn fine, but in this case...pleasegodno.
Besides the leads, I'll just comment on a few more roles.
Ashley Greene seems to be able to pull of Alice well but her other half, Jasper, Jackson Rathbone is an epic fail, IMO. Maybe when I actually watch the movie, he won't suck as bad as I'm sure he will.
Also, Nikki Reed isn't my ideal Rosalie Hale but then again, it's hard to live up to the title of "Most Beautiful Woman in the World."
Everyone else, I pretty much have no opinion on. Except for Taylor Lautner. If he ruins Jacob, I'm going to *insertviolentamdeaninglessthreat*. And I hate the wig he has to wear. It's fugly. And so is he. Grr.
Le sigh. Jacob in the books is awesome. And now he won't be :(
I remember that when I first won Twilight way back before it was famous. (Think 4 years ago, little 13 year old me won a copy of Twilight. If I hadn't won it, I would have probably never read it...)
Anyways, needless to say, I loved it. And I thought Jacob was really interesting, so all was not horrible when New Moon came out (and I got it a week early! Yay for Chapters and their shipping mistakes!).
And even in Eclipse, Jacob was still one of my favorites. (Don't be a hater! Don't you feel sorry for him at all!?!)
But Breaking Dawn ruined him. And the whole series. Oh well, I was hoping this movie would redeem him but I guess not.
Anyways, how did you guys discover Twilight and what do you think of the casting? And WHEN are you going to go see the movie?
I know I'm going to see the movie tomorrow. Even if I'm not allowed. *ahem.*
Happy Watching,
Reader Rabbit

I got into Twilight late -- after the first three books were out. I usually don't like vampires (the whole blood drinking thing creeps me out) but everyone was raving about the books, so I broke down and started the first one and couldn't stop!
I'm going to see the movie with my mom tomorrow! She's a total Twilight Mom! I don't have any expectations that it will be as good as the book, but I think it will be fun either way!
I got into it right after the second book came out. Steph at Reviewer X insisted I read the first one and I was hooked. I couldn't remember the last time a 500 page book went so fast. :P
I discovered Twilight just about the time New Moon came out. I checked them both out at the library. Then suddenly, everyone was reading them!
I'm going to the movie tomorrow afternoon, and hopefully I'll get through today without hearing everyone's reactions! I want to have my own reaction!
I love Jacob, and unlike you, I think the kid that plays him looks great! It remains to be seen what I think of his acting I guess.
I actually read Twilight about a month after it was released and I read it only two days. I was hooked; I had never read anything so amazing. I actually got every girl in my family, including my mom, to read and they all fell in love with much like I did.
I went to the midnight showing and I've never been so upset with a movie in my life. It was overly cheesy and the acting was terrible! Edward's character is supposed to be smooth and suave and in the movie he's so awkward and hard to watch at times; and Bella, Kristen Stewart, it mumbling and stuttering and tripping over her words so many times in the movie. Plus, they left out two of the biggest scenes when Edward and Bella really get to know each other and strewed it across the movie and made it...all mashed up and patchy.
But that is just my opinion; I really hope that you do like it. I really wished I had as well.
Oh, and it's sad that most of the movie was actually quoted word for word from the book and it still doesn't even come close to what it should be.
Chapters is the best and worst.
On the upside, I've gotten so many books weeks before the North American release dates, on the downside, I sometimes have to wait weeks to get books all my American friends have already read.
I just found your blog from Steph's (Reviewer X's) blogroll? Link exchange?
I actually discovered the book by accident.I was over at a friends, and my friend had to take some medication, and was out in five minutes the instant she hit the bed, leaving me alone and bored. I couldn't turn the TV on, her house was small, so the sound would carry. I couldn't sleep, so I turned over on my side and saw this book next to me. I was unaware what it was, only knowing that it said:
Three things I was certian of
One, Edward was a vampire.
Two, there was a part of him, and I had no idea how dominant this part of him was, that thirsted for my blood.
And Three, I was completely and irrelivently in love with him.( haven't read the back in a while, may be wrong)
Call me a hopeless romantic and sci fi junkie, but in my opinion, love + vampires= EPIC WIN!!!! So, i decided to pick it up at 11:34. The instant I hit the first page, I was hooked. I read until 4:00 AM that morning, leaving one page left. I devored it in the morning, after discovering I had passed out due to lack of sleep, and was lucky enough to find the second book, New Moon. My friend hadn't even started, so I took New Moon, finished it in 1 day, and grabbed Eclipse and finished it in 2. I pre orded Breaking Dawn, and finished it 7 days after I began--because I didn't want my beloved book series to end and left one page left. I let it end like it began. :) Now everyone at my school is just now getting into Twilight, and I feel kinda alone. Should have waited I guess!
Anonymous: It's great that you discovered Twilight :) Wow, you must have been really hooked to stay up that late.
Aww, all my friends discovered Twilight after me as I read it a few months after it came out but now everyone's into it! Meh, it's better not to wait! You started the trend hehe ;)
I personally loved the movie
